UPDATED July 30, 2021 - Due to capital project construction at Cairo-Durham Middle/High School, parking and entry for July and August Board of Education meetings will be in the back of the building.
Voters approved the proposed 2021-2022 budget and elected Elizabeth Daly, Christopher O’Connell, Brian Coletti and Carolyn Miller to the Board of Education.
The annual vote for the 2021-22 school budget proposal and Board of Education election is on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 1-9 p.m. in the CDMS cafeteria. Learn about the budget proposal, propositions and Board candidates here.
*Video now available here* The public hearing for the 2021-22 proposed budget will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 in the high school auditorium. It will also be on Zoom. Residents are encouraged to attend and learn how tax rates and tax bills will DECREASE for the majority of property owners next year.
Four (4) seats on the Board of Education are up for election on May 18, 2021. The terms of Brian Coletti, Elizabeth Daly, David Infantino and Chris O’Connell will expire on June 30, 2021. Three seats are three-year, non-paid terms ending in June 2024. One seat is a one-year, non-paid term ending in June 2022. The candidate with the fourth highest number of votes will fill the one-year term.
There are five candidates running for four open seats. They will be listed on the ballot as follows: Brian Coletti, Elizabeth Daly, Tonya Frickey, Christopher O’Connell, Carolyn Miller.
There will be a special one-item Board of Education meeting on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
