Essential Duties:

  • School bus drivers pick up students at stops along established routes and drop them off at school.
  • They may also transport students and faculty to special events, such as field trips or sporting events

  • All applicants must be 21 years of age and posses a clean NYS CDL “B” license with both a Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsement.

Teaching Assistant

at Cairo Durham Elementary School.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in School Psychology
  • New York State Certification in School Psychology (provisional or permanent certification will be considered)

Duties include:

  • Collaboration with teachers and pupil personnel service providers
  • Complete Functional Behavior Assessment/Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Consult with parents and staff members on student behavioral concerns
  • Crisis intervention
  • Individual and small-group counseling

Distinguishing Features of the Class:
This is a responsible clerical position within a school district involving secretarial duties of a
confidential nature. The incumbent is responsible for handling routine correspondence,
maintaining confidential files and records, making appointments, scheduling meetings,
preparing required documents and carrying out related duties as required. Work is performed
under the direct supervision of the Business Official.
Typical Work Activities:
The typical work activities listed below are illustrative only. Incumbents in this title may
perform some or all of the following, as well as other related activities not described.

  • Performs daily clerical duties for the Business Office.
  • Composes Business Office correspondence.
  • Maintains a variety of Business Office related reports and contracts.
  • Maintains faculty and staff attendance records and conference requests.
  • Enters and updates information for new and existing employees.
  • Corresponds with and maintains records for each pool of substitute staff.
  • Assists Director of Facilities and Director of Transportation with clerical duties.
  • Acts as point-of-contact for transportation contracts and correspondence.
  • Submits insurance claims, including general liability, student accident and workers’ compensation.
  • Assists with school budget votes.
  • Assists the Business official with paperwork for construction projects.
  • Assists the District Treasurer and Secretary to the Superintendent with various tasks as needed.
