Stay Informed

There are many ways to stay informed about things happening at Cairo-Durham CSD. You can check our website, download the free Cairo-Durham CSD mobile app, follow our Facebook page, and receive notifications by phone, email, and/or text message. Learn more below.

Alerts/Notifications

There are several potential reasons you may receive phone calls, emails and/or text messages from the school, including:

  • Emergency delays and closings (such as weather closures)

  • Reminders of important dates and events

  • Early dismissals

  • Attendance/unexcused absences

  • Suspicious individuals or activities on or near school grounds

Receiving Alerts/Notifications

Parents/guardians will automatically be signed up to receive phone, email and text message alerts when they provide their contact information at the beginning of each school year. Shortly after launching the new system, parents/guardians should receive a welcome text message from the short code 98900. You may unsubscribe from these alerts at any time (see below).

Phone alerts from the schools should display the phone number of the school contacting you (either 622-3231 for CDE, 622-0490 for CDMS, or 622-8543 for CDHS). Text messages will come from 98900. We recommend saving these phone numbers in your contacts for easy identification.

Recurring Messages. Message & Data rates may apply. Terms and Privacy at http://3csms.mobi/98900/

Note: In order to receive the above notifications, your contact information must be entered in SchoolTool (the District's student information management system). This is often restricted to parents, guardians and approved contacts. If you need to update or verify your contact information, please contact the main office of your child’s school.

Unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe from phone and/or email alerts by emailing webmaster@cairodurham.org and submitting a written request to no longer receive these alerts. In your email, please include your name, your child’s name and school, and whether you want to stop receiving phone alerts, email alerts, or both.

If you submit a written request to unsubscribe, you will be added to the Do Not Contact list and you will no longer receive notifications from the school. The District will still have your contact information and can contact you directly regarding your child(ren), if needed, however you will not receive messages sent through our mass notification system (e.g., weather delays or closures). If you change your mind and want to receive alerts again, please email webmaster@cairodurham.org and request to be removed from the Do Not Contact list.

To stop receiving text messages from the District, you can unsubscribe by texting STOP to 98900.
