The public budget hearing for the 2017-2018 proposed school budget is on Thursday, May 4 at 7 p.m. in the Cairo-Durham Middle/High School Media Center. Voting on the proposed school budget and Board of Education elections will take place on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 between the hours of 12 noon and 9 p.m. (in the Cairo-Durham Middle School cafeteria).
Open to students in Grades 2-6, "Mustang Pride" Basketball Camp is coming back to Cairo-Durham Middle School! The camp will run from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 15-Friday, May 19, 2017. Each camp is limited to 35 campers, so register soon to secure your child's spot!

Parents who are interested in the addition of a full-day section to the existing pre-k program are encouraged to attend a Pre-Kindergarten Information Night on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in the CDE large cafeteria.
The school district is looking into adding a full-day section of pre-k to its already successful half-day program. The district hopes to positively affect more future kindergarteners by expanding the pre-k program to include a full-day section in addition to the current half-day sections.
Educators from the Center for Vascular Awareness in Albany visited Biology students at Cairo-Durham High School on April 11 for V-Healthy Day. The day is devoted to teaching students about the importance of maintaining a healthy vascular system. Students learned about the effects of hypertension, diabetes, obesity, smoking and genetics on their vascular health. They used sphygmomanometers to take blood pressure.
