Gabrielle Bettin, 11th grade, has been asked to join in Creatives Rising, a digital exhibition in New York City. She will be participating with thousands of other entrants from across the globe. Gabrielle will be traveling to New York City on Saturday, October 5th to showcase her work in the art show.
Cairo Durham High School needs your help. We are looking for volunteers for our first ever career expo. We are in need of community members who are able to volunteer 2 hours of their morning on November 21 to discuss their career with small groups of High School Juniors and Seniors.

The Cairo-Durham High School will be hosting a barbeque and student dance on September 20.
The barbeque will run from 5pm to 6:30pm and is open to parents and students. Clubs and other student organizations will be setup for discussion and sign-ups. Chicken, macaroni salad, corn on the cob, and dessert will be served for only $3/person.
The student dances will run from 7pm to 10pm is for high school students only. If students wish to bring an out-of-district guest, they must pick up an agreement form from the High School office and return it. Admission is $3/person.
The Cairo-Durham Teachers’ Association will be holding a 5K Run/Walk fundraiser on October 12. All funds raised will go into scholarships for graduating Cairo-Durham seniors. Prizes will be awarded for first place entrants in male/female and adult/teen categories. All registered participants will receive T-shirts and admission to the Apple Harvest Festival.

Columbia-Greene Community College will be hosting its Annual College Night Program on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. The program will run from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the Columbia-Greene Community College gymnasium. Students are invited to attend this program which provides the opportunity to meet representatives from many colleges.
Catherine Clappin, currently a senior at Cairo-Durham High School, wrote to President Obama and Governor Cuomo about her concerns with the future of education funding. Her heartfelt writing prompted the president to write back to her. Her letter and president Obama's response are provided below.
