The 2014 Semi-formal will be held on Friday evening, February 28. Royalty will be crowned. All eligible students in grades 9-12 are invited to attend.
It has been six years that the Interact Club has been volunteering their time to help organize the Backpack program. Partnered with the Cairo Food Pantry, the members of this club pack snacks,drinks and dinners into plastic bags. These bags are delivered to Cairo-Durham Intermediate School for distribution on Friday for the students in need.

High School Spirit Week: January 6th - 10th. Show your school spirit by dressing up with each day's theme. While participation in spirit week is optional, we hope students will participate showing Cairo-Durham school spirit.
The Interact Club donated $250 to The Imagination Library that is being sponsored by the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cairo. This program aims to foster a love of reading among preschool children within our school district. On Sunday, October 13th, 2013, E.A.R.T.H. Club members took a hike at "The Windham Path." They spent two hours wandering the path exploring nature and enjoying the outdoors. This was their first event for the year and they hope to have many more like it. If a Middle School or High School student is interested in joining E.A.R.T.H. Club this year, please see Mrs. Jones in the High School for details.
The High School newsletter for November 2013 includes information on winter sports, NewsChannel 13's Top Teacher program, fundraisers, the Red Cross blood drive, Financial Aid Night, and more.
After the 2nd annual Golf Tournament held at Blackhead Mt. Lodge, the Interact Club was able to raise over $1,300. The majority of the money goes to scholarships for the seniors who actively participate in Interact. This year, the Interact Club chose to donate $300 to the Booster Club that tries to raise money for Modified sports.
