"Wait, Look and Drive 45" (Traffic Safety Public Service Announcement)
Did you know that about 85% of drivers are speeding when they pass Cairo-Durham Middle/High School? That is almost 9 out of every 10 vehicles! Despite this finding from a 2016 New York State Department of Transportation traffic study, the DOT denied the Cairo-Durham Central School District's request to install a traffic signal in front of the school on Route 145. Therefore, we are focusing on driver education and developing traffic safety campaigns to encourage safe and cautious driving.
Lockdown at CDMS/HS (Tuesday, February 27, 2018)
At approximately 12:20 p.m., Cairo-Durham Middle/High School went into lockdown because of an alleged threat made by a student. The lockdown was lifted at approximately 12:55 p.m. and activities returned to normal after law enforcement determined there to be no immediate threat.
