Cairo-Durham Spelling Bee Winner Headed to Regional Competition

On Friday, February 5th, a total of 30 students from Cairo-Durham CSD competed for the title of top speller at their annual spelling bee. Students in grades five through eight participated in the event. To qualify as a semi-finalist each of these students first won his/her classroom bee.

The 28th annual Capital Region Spelling Bee will take place on Monday, March 15th at Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady beginning at 5pm. The regional bee will air live on Time Warner Cable Local on Demand Channel 1009.
The champion of the Capital Region Spelling Bee will win an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the 2010 Scripps National Spelling Bee from June 2-4. Congratulations again to Sean on this accomplishment!
