High School Students Hold First Annual Freshman Cookie Bake

Senior mentors from Cairo-Durham High School’s Peer Group Connection hosted their first Annual Freshman Cookie Bake on December 16. A total of eight seniors and 25 freshmen participated in the event. Seniors planned and organized the process which included setting up five cookie baking stations in the Home and Careers classroom. One or two seniors assisted groups of freshman at each station as they baked cookies from around the world including Australian Anzac, Greek Butter Cookies, American Chocolate Chip and Czeck Bear Paws. At each station students also learned about the history of the cookie they were baking.
