While parents attended a writing workshop at Durham Elementary on Wednesday, November 12th – high school seniors watched over kindergarten students as part of their community service requirement in the Participation in Government class. Seniors are required to accumulate 15 hours of community service by December 1, 2008.

Durham Elementary Kindergarten Teacher Diane Parette hosted a workshop for parents and other family members on the handwriting program. “Small pencils for little hands,” said Parette to a classroom filled with parents. Parents had a lot of fun learning about handwriting techniques to share with their children at home.
