High School Entrance
Cairo-Durham High School houses approximately 600 students, grades 9-12, who follow an alternate day block schedule. High school students are offered a broad range of activities, including band, chorus, drama, student government and interscholastic sports. Combining classroom and project-based learning, high school the faculty encourages learning and problem solving. In addition, advanced placement courses are available for students to earn college credit.

Community Service – Seniors Lend a Helping Hand at Durham Elementary

While parents attended a writing workshop at Durham Elementary on Wednesday, November 12th – high school seniors watched over kindergarten students as part of their community service requirement in the Participation in Government class. Seniors are required to accumulate 15 hours of community service by December 1, 2008.
THE GREAT AMERICAN SMOKEOUT

Members of SADD will be recognizing The Great American Smokeout on November 20, 2008. Please stay tuned for an update on the final details of this event.
The Great American Smokeout is an annual event in the United States to encourage Americans to quit smoking.

We are close to our goal! We have raised a total of $10,500 for a new piano to replace the 1923 built piano, which many Cairo-Durham students, past and present, have had the pleasure of playing.
However, this piano is old and is not holding up well with age.
