Ms. Gilmore’s third grade class took a ride through the solar system with Planetary Patty on Dec 21.

Durham Elementary students celebrated Thanksgiving during their first annual Thanksgiving Feast. Students in Kindergarten through fifth grade participated in the school wide event and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Faculty, staff, PTA, Chartwells Food Service and Superintendent Sally Sharkey helped serve a traditional Thanksgiving lunch to students and then joined them for the feast. According to Principal Thomas Baumgartner the event was a great success. He would like to thank everyone involved for their help and dedication to our students.

During an assembly at Durham Elementary School students explored the wonders of space and met “ROBO, the friendly robot”. The “Go for the Stars!” presentation teaches students about space, gravity and robotics. Students learned about the International Space Station, how astronauts travel to space and how they live and work in space.

The Durham Elementary Winter Concerts will be held on December 22nd. The K-2nd grade will begin at 6:00 and 3-5 will begin at 7:00 PM.
