“Bottles for Bucks”, a new student initiated club at Cairo Elementary, made a recent donation to relief efforts in Haiti. Students in “Bottles for Bucks” collect juice and water bottles from around the building, recycle them at the local supermarket and save any bottle return money they collect. This money is then donated to a charity chosen by the students. After reading a story in TIME magazine about the earthquake in Haiti, club members voted unanimously to donate their current funds to the relief efforts.

Kindergarten students at Cairo Elementary spent a day building and decorating gingerbread houses to celebrate the holidays. Faculty, staff and family members joined in the celebration.
